Around fifty women from the Famagusta area were brought together on Saturday 30 March 2019 by MAKAMER, Famagusta Women’s Association, to learn about social entrepreneurship. The event took place at MASDER’s premises in the centre of the Famagusta walled city from 10:00 – 13:00.

The project ‘Go Social CY: supporting employability through social entrepreneurship’ was presented by Aycan Garip, the project coordinator. Opportunities for participation in the EU funded project such as trainings and internships were shared with the participants. Later on participants had the opportunity to learn more about the work of MAKAMER, Can Kids and Tiganokinisi as examples of social entrepreneurship initiatives and be inspired by pioneers in the field. Project information and give away cotton bags were disseminated indicating the project’s website and social media for further public outreach. Demonstration on innovative technologies also took place as an example of how participants can develop their own own social enterprises.

The project team will organize more info days in April targeting primarily youth. Upcoming events are announced on the project’s website and social media. Stay tuned!
