In partnership with MAGEM, the Go Social project was presented on 8 June 2019 at Famagusta Kale Pasaji, within the Walled City of Famagusta. The event was attended by twenty-two youth interested in venturing into the world of social entrepreneurship.

Presentations on social entrepreneurship providing an overview and enriched by inspiring groundbreaking examples were shared with the participants. Demonstration on innovative technologies that could trigger social businesses such as transforming plastic waste into 3D printed objects was offered. Existing social initiatives such as transforming cooking oil into fuel were also presented. Booklets providing information on social entrepreneurship prepared within the framework of the project as well as promotional materials were handed out to guests.

As the lead trainer for the project, Dr. Michalis Loizidis, mentioned: “Social entrepreneurship is an alternative job sector especially for the unemployed youth who can earn their living while doing social good for their communities”.
