28 June 2019|Paphos

On Friday 28 June 2019 the Go Social Cy team visited the Green Cluster members of the town of Paphos. Green Cluster was a two-year initiative developed by AKTI Project and Research Centre in 2014-2016. It aimed at strengthening joint activities, increasing innovation, networking, trust building, business development, and business environments. The Green Cluster emerged from a need to bring together businesses with a common interest, the environment, in a collective that would promote business growth and extroversion, allow access to funds and encourage and support the creation of start-ups.

During the visit, the team had the opportunity to inform shopkeepers in Makariou Avenue and the shops located in the Hani of Ibrahim about social entrepreneurship and encourage them to consider doing business and at the same time have a social cause. Some of the shopkeepers felt that could be a valid option for them in their attempt to involve for example the elderly in the production of their goods.

In addition to shopkeepers, the team also met with the Municipality of Paphos Info Point at the Hani of Ibrahim. Information material such as booklets and leaflets on social entrepreneurship are now available at the Info Point.
