The Go Social Cy: Supporting employability through social entrepreneurship along with AKTI Project and Research Centre participated at the 11th Eco Festival organized by the Municipality of Lakatamia in cooperation with the Schools of Lakatamia and Anthoupolis. The event took place on 19 May 2019 from 18:00 to 20:00 at the Ag. Georgios Park in Lakatamia (Amphitheater Lakatamia area). Besides AKTI, the event also included the Department of Forests, the Water Development Department, the Office of the Environment Commissioner, the Electricity Authority of Cyprus, the Representation of the European Union in Cyprus, the Energy Office of the Cypriot Citizens, Green Dot, Ecological Movement of Cyprus, Anakiklos Environmental, and Zorpas Bakery.
During the event, visitors had the opportunity to get acquainted with ecology issues, through the various tasks that school students had prepared, as well as through the information material provided by the participants in the event. There were also various activities for children, such as interesting constructions and educational games.
AKTI Project and Research Centre also shared information on social entrepreneurship and participation opportunities in the Go Social Cy Project funded by the EU. At the same time, innovative technologies such as a 3D printer was exhibited to create artistic bookmarks made from waste plastic for the children.
